Irene Sheldon birth

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me please.

I've a relative whose name is different on different census.

Dinah
Rinah
And now I've just seen a member of ancestry who has a possible 2nd wife with same birth details as I have but for Irene (2nd wife has same birth details as first and is Rinah)

It's obviously just occurred to me that Rinah could have been a short or pet name for Irene Sheldon.

All I have is Irene Sheldon born about 1889 in Eryrys, Denbighshire but could also come under Llanarmon-yn-iāl, Denbighshire.

If anyone could help I'd be really grateful.

Parents should be John Sheldon and Charlotte Jones.

1891 census image she is Rina - looks like Kina
1901 census image she is Rinah

A nickname for Irene is Renee so possibly in Welsh dialect it could be Rina - it seems her birth was registered as Rina but baptism was Irene -possibly this could be because some reverends would only baptise using what was considered to be a "proper" name - I know of this happening during my lifetime

How kind of you to look all of that up for me.

That's super helpful as I believe I've found her marriage but her name is Irene on that one.

She's the only one out of those children that had me completely baffled and I'd wondered if she'd died very young.

Thank you for that, you've given me another address to look up too 😊. I live just outside of Eryrys so it's been incredible to learn my family history dates from the village so far back 😊
