What became of Albert SHELTON * COMPLETED*
« on: Tuesday 05 November 19 02:53 GMT (UK) »
Albert SHELTON son of Frederick SHELTON & Charlotte JACKSON was born 19 Jan 1883 Nottinghamshire, England.

On 26 Oct 1904 in Queensland [possibly Ipswich] Albert & Eleanor Williams SHANKS married.

The couple are living at Silkstone, a suburb of Ipswich in 1917. Albert is a Miner.

After that I am unable to locate Albert.  There was an Albert living in Peeramon, Cairns in 1949 - 1952 but don't know if this is the one I am seeking.

Eleanor Williams SHELTON nee SHANKS died as Eleanor Williams STARK on 6 Aug 1972.  I could not locate a second marriage for her.

A challenging one I fear and am hoping for some assistance.

Albert's sister it appears married in QLD

Michael Henry Joseph ELEISON
Lucy Rosina SHELTON
1907 Queensland
C3859

In 1923, Albert's wife refers to herself as Mrs Shelton at the death of her sister in law.

In 1954 the Qld E Roll shows Eleanor Williams STARK with Wilhelm Friederich STARK at 29 Doyle Street, Silkstone, Labourer.
Same entry in 1958 and 1963 E. Rolls.

Thank you jamjar, Jackie and Sue,

I originality thought Bertie was Albert but no its not.

I didn't have the person with whom Eleanor was living so thanks for that.

If you read carefully the third of these funeral notices regarding Albert's father you will note that only Mrs A SHELTON is mentioned.
Not Mr and Mrs A SHELTON

So he was not about by 1945.

Thanks Sue.

I had noticed and decided to purchase Eleanor [Mrs SHELTONs] death certificate as that may give some clue.

Many thanks once again.
