1841 Census Westbury - SPICER
« on: Friday 19 August 05 14:27 BST (UK) »
Hello!

Im trying to find out more about Catherine Spicer born c.1835 in Westbury, Shropshire. She married Isaac Middle and shows up on the 1881 census as a widow living in Madeley, Shropshire. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could find her parents and possible siblings on the 1841 census for me.

Best wishes

Alison

I can't see Catherine but these families appear in the Westbury area.

HO107/909/18 folio 53 page 9 - Coton Hill, Aston Rogers

Edward Spicer 35 Ag Lab Y
Sarah Spicer 35 Y
John Spicer 7 Y

HO107/909/18 folio 50 page 4 - Whitton, Vennington, Westbury

Catherine Spicer 65 Y

There is also a family in Bonninghall, but that is Shifnal which is some miles from Westbury.

Thanks for those two records Lloydy. Both fit into my tree. Catherine aged 65 is my GGGGG grandmother, and it looks like Edward in the first return is one of her sons. I more or less have the direct Spicer line traced now. However, the Middle family is proving a little more elusive!

Thanks again
