Tree on ancestry has one child of Catherine Arbuckle Spence and David John Treadwell but I see no sign of anyone with them in the electoral rolls. Nor any newspaper announcement of a birth

(Searching in the newspapers not helped by there being a firm of solicitors Treadwell!)

There is a 1981 Wellington Probate for a David John Treadwell, might give more clues for possible children?

Not sure what is going on here, but this death does appear to be Margaret Johnson née Spence.
However birthday is way out

2007/30228   Johnson   Margaret Campbell   30 April 1920
(Unless the first 1909 Margaret died?)

Added, but she didn’t, as  age 17 on passenger list, see reply 14 later. Must have been older than her husband  ;D ;D

If wanting to search the newspaper for Margaret's death notice.  Death date was 9 December, so the notice appeared in the Wellington Papers.

Perhaps ask a Librarian if they could supply you with a copy of the notice.

Just to see if the correct Margaret.  This one was Titahi Bay.

Alice might is be Alice Jane Waterson NIVEN. Who died 1998.

Dob give as 5 Jan 1922.

Husband = John Bruce NIVEN

Confirmed in will of Margaret Campbell Spence who died 1952. (It’s a great will including the letter signed by King George on the release of Robert Spence from captivity)

It would have been nice if you had told me you already had all this information from four years ago!
