SEARCHING NORTHERN IRELAND CIRCA 1800-1845
« on: Friday 08 November 19 16:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi!

I am looking for the Craig family who lived in Ireland before moving to Ayrshire, Scotland around 1848-49 but I can find no trace of them!

From Scottish census’ I have looked at it looks like they were born in Drumlough, Dromore, Down, Northern Ireland but I am struggling to find any info on this area!

The info I have is:

Hugh Craig (father) circa 1811-1870
Elizabeth Craig (mother) nee Rennie maybe? C1814-1867

Children:

George Craig
James Craig
Samuel Craig
William Craig
John Craig

Not sure where to look, I have signed up for many sites such as findmypast and ancestry but am getting nothing in return.  Where is best to look!?

Drumlough is in the Civil Parish of Dromore
There is also a Diocese call Dromore.
Durmlough doesn't appear to have it's own listing for parish registers.
The COI records for Dromore (townland) Dromore (parish) Dromore (Diocese) start 1784
see page 37 for where they can be found
https://www.ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/registers/ParishRegisters/PARISHREGISTERS.pdf
I'm not 100% sure that is the parish you need but you can see the others in the diocese on the list.
