Hello,
I just received the obituary of John Maurice Meade from 1959 at Waterbury CT, she mentions survivors a woman named Alberta (Yarmala) Meade and a brother Frank, Orange.
But I do not really know where to look with this information.
Sincerely Karine

Alberta was his wife. Francis was his brother. ("Frank" is a nickname for Francis).
So John had no children who survived him.

This is a link to the obituary of his brother Frank.

His child would not be your brother, but your cousin. If you are interested in finding him, you can put his name into a search at Google, along with the name of the city mentioned "of ....".
You might find out where he lives now. I will try later today.

I should have included this link also.

1940 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K4T6-37M

Sandra

That link shows that the man you are looking for - the son of Francis Meade in New Jersey - was 0 years old in 1940. The census image says he was 1 month old. The census was taken in April 1940. That should help you be sure you find the right person.

Remember he may have moved from New Jersey, where he was living 30 years ago. People retire from work, and many move to the southern states when they retire.

Hello,
I sent you a personal message on rootschat with the information I found about your family.

Please remember that they do not know about your father. Maybe they do not want to know, or they may not be happy to find out.  :) So think about what you are going to say, if you say anything.

If you contact anyone, I suggest that you start with the younger person whose name I sent you. The older person is almost 80, and he has lived all his life without knowing about his uncle or your father. Younger people sometimes can accept information like this, - maybe it is because they are not as closely connected to the people involved. It was 2-3 generations ago for her.
