DAVIES of LLANDEGLEY
« on: Monday 11 November 19 15:13 GMT (UK) »
hello

I'm searching for an ESTHER ANN DAVIES who was born around 1807 - 1815 depending on which record you look at.
In 1841 she is in Glascwm, is shown as ANN, is married to William LEWIS and aged 25 ~ but I think the enumerator wrote 27 first then wrote 25 across it.

In 1841 Ann or Esther Ann is not of the county of Radnorshire, but in her 1827 marriage she is said to 'be of Llandegley' which is in Radnorshire.
Is there another Llandegley somewhere? Have they moved the county boundaries?
Can anyone with local knowledge please help?
Avril

The place mentioned on her marriage would be her residence at the time not her place of birth

Where do you have her in 1851

Rosie
even more inconsiderate was the fact that no age was given at her death in 1844. I have a disk from a family history society which said she was aged 37.
She was buried as Anne Lewis and as another Esther Lewis was buried in Glascwm in 1850, everyone is taking that entry instead. But her husband William Lewis remarried 4 months after her death in 1844 to Eliza Price.
We have Eliza in 1861 but then she drops off the face of the earth when the rest of them trot off to USA. I'll start a fresh post on Eliza
