Edward Campbell Coalisland
« on: Tuesday 12 November 19 21:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi
According to ancestry my great great grandmother Anne Fox was the daughter of Edward Campbell and Mary McGovern from Coalisland. Anne married James Fox and they lived at Shamble Lane in Dungannon. I am trying to find any information on Campbell, Fox and McKenna from Dungannon and Coalisland. Edward Fox was a farmer in Coalisland. He was alive in 1870 at the time of Anne second marriage to Peter McKenna after the death of her first husband James Fox
Any information on these names in this area would be a great help in completing our tree.
Thanks
Annemarie

'According to ancestry my great great grandmother Anne Fox was the daughter of Edward Campbell and Mary McGovern from Coalisland'

When was she born, and is this an actual record, or a hint?

Thank-you.

I can see her in one tree on Ancestry :
Ann Campbell, Fox, Mckenna 1840-1904
Born 1840 at Coalisland, Tyrone, Ireland
Died 5th May 1904, Shamble Lane, Dungannon, Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Her place and date of birth are linked to one of her son's birth information, and she married Peter Fox (not shown) then Peter McKenna in 1870.  First Fox child in 1861, Peter Fox died 1869, married Peter McKenna in Dunganoon in 1870.

Tried to follow the tree but some of the links do not make sense, her death is linked to this:
Anne Fox  Born about 1828    Death registered 1904 September quarter  aged 76 at Dungannon

Ancestry is now trying to make me log into the USA site, and having problems. It is stuck in a loop - a bit like that tree.

Her marriage to Peter is in Dungannon Parish register

Right hand page, second last
Perhaps the earlier events are in the same parish.

Thanks for that link - I was just trying to follow the tree, and have now closed ancestry to let it rest, as it was spinning around and throwing up dollar signs.

That is the second marriage   First marriage?

Cannot yet see her in 1901 in Dunganoon.

Added:
Death should be as Ann McKenna, not Ann Fox?

Thank you for your swift responses.
This is the information I have so far.
My great grandfather James Fox is registered as born on 5 July 1865 at 6 Shamble Lane, Dungannon. His parents are registered as James Fox snr and Annie Fox nee Campbell.
Irish records certificates show that James and Annie also had daughter named Anne born 11 April 1867.
Irish records show James Fox snr died age 36 in 1868.
Annie Fox nee campbell remarried 1 August 1870 a Peter McKenna. Her father is registered as Edward Campbell.
According to family records. Annie Campbell’s father was a farmer in Coalisland married to Mary Campbell formerly Mcgovern.
There are a number of DNA matches on Ancestry in Coalisland and Dungannon relating to Campbell, Doris and Fox.
I’d appreciate any information. Thanks again for responding to me. I cannot wait to visit Ireland with my mother who I manage the family tree on behalf of.

Where do you get the evidence for her death and have you found her on the 1901 census?
