Thomas LANE (1804-1866)
« on: Saturday 16 November 19 16:20 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to locate the baptismal record of the above person, who the census records consistently state was born in 1804. By 1826 he had moved to Willington, where he married and settled. Both the 1841 and 1851 censuses found him living in Willington, with his birth place being given as Derbyshire. In 1841 he is a boatman and in 1851 a railway gate keeper. The 1861 census is a bit more specific, giving his birthplace as Kings Newton, which I believe is in Derbyshire but near the county border, meaning he could have been baptised in neighbouring counties.

I would be grateful for any help in finding his baptism.

Many thanks. I knew about the marriage to Ann Gaskin, though the date on the register is 15th Oct 1826, not 16th.

The baptism continues to be elusive.
