Contacting people on Ancestry

Help!! This is driving me to distraction ...is it them or am I doing something wrong.
I have a subscription to A.co.uk and have put my tree on there (public) but each time I try to contact someone who might have a link to my tree it comes up with

We’re sorry, this page is temporarily unavailable.
You can try reloading the page, or come back later.

It's been saying this for weeks!!

 I don,t know the reason why this happens but try just putting a name and a date of someone on your tree into the search box and it should bring up public trees of others with that name in them.

Thank you Lola, yes I've done that but I want to actually contact the owner of the tree via email or message or something

Could it be that the people you are trying to contact have let their subscriptions lapse?

I have exactly the same problem Sylvia.

Yes - it's been going on for weeks.
It's impossible to look at anyone's profile too - the message "We’re sorry, this page is temporarily unavailable. You can try reloading the page, or come back later." haunts me now 

Paying for half a service is unacceptable

Have you tried logging out,leaving it for a while and then logging back in.

It seems to give it a kick up the bum sometimes

They are currently rolling out an update to their messaging system, so maybe your account has now reached the update stage. Try contacting support to see if this is the case.

Been having the same problem but I have family tree maker and I was able to access them through that.

The only way I've ever tried to contact people on Ancestry is by calling up their username, and sending them a p.m.
If I /we later decide to get in closer touch, one or the other usually suggests we move to exchanging e-mail addresses. Not often had the "unavailable page" pop up.
