Thomas True circa 1780

Thought to be born in the Ickford area Brill, Buckinghamshire around 1780.
I am trying to find his wife Elizabeths Surname. it is thought to be Gardiner or Gardner, but I have not been able to find a marriage.
They had three Children John Circa 1813. William 1815 and James circa 1821.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are they in the 1851 census with his wife Elizabeth age 77 (born around 1774) from Ludgershall, Buckinghamshire, 8 years older than her husband?
This would make her 47 when that son James was born.

There is the possibility that Elizabeth is a second wife, and/or she had been married before, as she would have been 39 when first child was born.

Just for consideration, as I cannot see a marriage.

Yes I believe that they are in the 1851 Census as you indicate.
I have considered a previous marriage in the past, with little success, I will now add it again to my "To Do" list, which is ever growing, the further back in time we all try to go !

Have you got Thomas and Elizabeth in 1841?

Where did that record come from, please?

If they married in 1801 there is a rather large gap until 'first' child, any other apparent children?

The marriage was on Find My Past as a transcription.  You would need to find an image to see all the possible info on that.

Thomas and James are in the 1841 living at Ickford, Thame, Buckinghamshire.  Elizabeth is not with them.

I found that 1841, so where is Elizabeth in 1841, also, on IGI, I can see christenings for John and William, but not for a James.
