Alexander Carmichael
« on: Friday 22 November 19 10:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,
Looking for any information on an Alexander Carmichael b. 1879 Kilmallie, Fort William.
He married Leah Mitchell Dow Grant 1908 in Forlundy, Lochaber.
His father was Hugh McCallum Carmichael and his mother was Julia McIntyre.
When his wife died in 1961 in Craigellachie/Ballachulish it stated on her death cert. married to Alexander so he must have still been alive then. Does anybody know where and when Alexander died.
They possibly owned a hotel in the Ballachulish area previously.

Regards

He married Leah Mitchell Dow Grant 1908 in Forlundy, Lochaber.
That will be Torlundy. http://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/NN1476
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi Forfarian,
Thanks for pointing out the place they were married.
That was me mistaking an F for a T on their marriage certificate.
