Henderson family info
« on: Thursday 28 November 19 16:21 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the death of Mercie Margaret Henderson born in 1907. im not sure if merie is a nickname or a first name. she married Gordon Hamilton in 1927 in Hamilton. also the death of her brother Arthur Larder Henderson born in 1909. He married Betty Edith Shuttler in 1934. Their parents were Walter Allison Henderson and Alison Larder, married in 1905. He was Scottish.

Any help would be great!

You are actually looking for the death of Mercie Margaret Hamilton as that was her married name.    Mercie/Mercy is usually a proper christian name.  Is that how it was spelt when she was born or at the time of her 1927 marriage

EDIT

A tree on Ancestry shows her husband as Gordon Hamilton Garrick - not Gordon Hamilton - and she was b Margaret known as Mercie and died 1980 in Calgary

Photo on it of Arthur and he died Hamilton but no date shown

If you have an Ancestry sub you can view the info or visit your local library if it has Ancestry access

Hi,

Gordon and Mercie are buried Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary
Gordon 1900-1956
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/176357297

There is an obituary for Gordon in the Calgary Herald newspaper, Aug. 31 and a larger one Sept. 1, 1956....Gordon Hamilton Garrick on Aug 30, born in Toronto, lived in Hamilton until he came to
Calgary 8 years ago....survived by wife Margaret, two daughters M* and P*, one son D* and his
mother Mrs. V.E. Coffin.....

Mercie Margaret Garrick 1906-1980

I can only see a snippet for Mercie's obit Dec. 30, 1980 in the Calgary Herald. She would have
died a day or two before. Her burial in June was a weather issue.
