 Researching my family. My grandfather was Robert Kirkland Married to Eugénie Lelia née Butone.  He died in 1960 in California USA.  I can't find information on his parents. Any help would be appreciated

He was born in Glasgow Scotland Sept 17, 1887. Robert Smith Kirkland. His wife remarried to a man Silas Sancier.

Robert Smith Kirkland was indeed born 17/9/1887, son of William Davidson Kirkland and Annie Waddell Borland Dickie (who married 14/9/1886 Glasgow).

1901 census shows the couple were both born ca.1861 Glasgow - looking at births index on Scotlands People William Davidson Kirkland was indeed born 1861 (Anderston, Glasgow) but his wife born as Ann Waddell Borland Dickie in 1859 (Bridgeton, Glasgow).

Ancestry shows William Davidson Kirkland born 7/3/1861, son of Robert Kirkland and Janet Davidson, and that Ann Waddell Borland Dickie was born 7/10/1859, dau. of Robert Dickie and Jane Robertson.  There's also a tree on Ancestry but they have wrong Christian names and death date for her.  She actually died in Partick, Glasgow in 1915.
