Ballinderreen, Kinvara, Kilcogan
« on: Monday 02 December 19 15:23 GMT (UK) »
I have been searching a while for Leonard family. Michael and Mary.  They has sons and I believe at least 3 of them moved over to Chesterfield in Derbyshire round about 1900.  I had information from census that gave the birth of Patrick as Co. Galway, later found Kinvara but recently have baptism record which stated Ballindereen and possibly the family name as Linane / Linnane or Lennane - mothers name was Walsh. Sponsors were Joseph and Honor Linane.

Patrick born 1879
Michael 1887
Martin 1891.

I am more confident the latest information is correct but still cannot trace anything much about the families so would be grateful to find out more about them and the history of Ballinderreen when they came from.

Welcome to RootsChat
Can you give us an idea of dates for the family
For example what date is Patrick's baptism record and which parish?
The names and likely birth dates of the other sons.

The 1911 census often give more detail on place of birth.

If you haven't already seen it, this is the townland of Ballinderreen in Drumacoo Civil Parish. It is about halfway between the villages of Kinvarra and Kilcolgan.
