I just tried to download 2 pdf files of Tithe Applotments from the PRONI website and both were corrupt files and couldn't be opened.  Any ideas why this happened?

I got them to open. For some reason my Adobe Reader would not open them (and it is updated and works fine for other pdf files I have). But if I right clicked and opened with "Google" it worked. No idea what the technical issue with Adobe is ??
