Lookup request 'Sart'
« on: Tuesday 03 December 19 15:09 GMT (UK) »
I've visited the Ancestry marriage records for Northamptonshire but can't find records for Finedon before 1706, please can someone confirm for me what surname this record says as I don't think it is correct?

Marriage
Thomas Sart
Finedon, Northamptonshire
1603

Where have you seen this record?
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

I've found this on FindMyPast but it's only a transcription and I think the surname is mistranscribed

Perhaps contact Northamptonshire FHS who did the transcribing  :-\

It is a transcript by Northamptonshire F.H.S.  There are other marriages in Finedon for the same timescale on that dataset, maybe you need to contact the Northants record office to see where they are available to view.

Sorry BB I see you have already posted much the same  :)

The records for Finedon are only noted from 1706 as previously said.

The Northants Record Office only have Bishop's Transcipts.
C 1706-1890
M 1706-1846
B 1706-1890

Perhaps then you need to contact Northants FHS to see where they got the information.

Here is the reply.

I'm not very well just at the moment but I'll try and have a look when I am next up there.

Please do chase it up if you don't hear back from me or if you can give any further detail (eg the month)"
