1864 Richmond Tasmania death of James Jamieson, aged 52y, pensioner 98th Foot

https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-33p121j2k

If this is your James, then his discharge from the 98th is on FindMyPast.
It says he spent 12 1/2 years aboard at the cape of good hope and the rest of her his  :) service was “at home”

There is no mention of the Channel Islands. Is there another James Jam*son in the 98th foot?
In 1841 he is on the British Army World wide index as at “ Newcastle, Manchester & Naas”. I haven’t found an image for this yet.

cause it was a little error due to typo thanks for pointing it out Jamjar. Birth, Marriage if she had children

Marriage and children already provided

Added, I would be trying to rule out that Brecknock birth.

Your cousin has her children etc on family tree.

She also has a UK military index for James.

I too would consider that birth in Wales.

Interesting, your cousin says she is the daughter of John Patience and Hannah BEEMS.
