Leo(n) Thomas Grenon, Huntingdon, Quebec
« on: Sunday 08 December 19 21:15 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to locate an obituary for this man.

Born at Huntingdon, Quebec on 19 April, 1921 he was the son of Alfred Grenon. I cannot make out his mother's name on the Drouin extract. There is also a Claire Grenon mentioned.

Although his name was Leon, he was known as Leo to all.

I've been told that he passed away in Valleyfield, Quebec in September of 1994. A search of the Gazette revealed no obituary.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Think this is the same family in 1921 but unsure of the name Margaret rather than Amanda.
Baptism of Joseph Albert Frederick in 1914 still mentions Amanda Laprada

Alfred Grenon   42
Marguerite Grenon 41
Aggie Grenon   16 Alfred Grenon   15
Mamie Grenon   13 Edouard Grenon   11
Bertha Grenon   9 Joseph Grenon   7
Louise Grenon   5 Edouard Grenon   3
Marie Grenon   1

There is an anc tree which says Leo(N) was married to Fébronia/Ferbonia Dubé born  9 October 1930 - Montréal (Saint-Pierre-Apôtre), Ile-de-Montréal, Qc. passed away  8 June 1991 - Montréal, Ile-de-Montréal, Qc

Slight different birth for Leo Grenon - 10 October 1923 - Montréal, Ile-de-Montréal, Qc.
passed away 23 March 1995 - Laval, Ile-Jésus, Qc

Thanks, Sandra.

I think we have to discount the man born in 1923. There's too much out there to say it is the 1921 one.

I'll have to check what happened to Maria Amanda Rojas Dit Laprade.

The middle name of Thomas only seemed to show on that baptism entry and UK, Allied Prisoners of War, 1939-1945 - the anc tree info could be wrong (without source)
