Hi I am wondering if anyone could help with getting this letter back to the right family.
I have researched all I can and am now lost.
The letter was written by Maria in 1879 when she was living at London Road Ipswich to the lady who has it Grandfather ,they have kept it for all these years.
Maria I have discovered was Mary Ann Sparke born 1866 in Bury St Edmund's Suffolk ,her father was Gregory Sparke and her mother was Mary Ann Wiseman .Gregory died a couple of years after the letter and all was left to Maria (on the census he was a gentleman)
I found Mary marrying in Ipswich 2nd August 1893 to Edward Alfred Lowe ,in 1901 I found them in Lewisham with a daughter Maud bn 1895 and a servant .
The strange thing is in 1905 her husband Edward died and I have found workhouse records for a Mary Ann Lowe and daughter Maud by Dec that year.
The workhouse admissions go on till middle of 1906 but Maud isn't with her then I lose her ? ,
Not sure how a lady who obviously had money would end up in workhouse so quickly after her husbands death when she should of been quite comfortable and what happened to her
I have told the lady who has the letter I would ask for help and she was eager to do this as she would like Maria's (Mary Ann ) descendants to have it .
Any help most appreciated
