GRO Birth Index Ref Help please for Aberystwyth 1857 ?

Can't find on GRO Birth Index Search Facility a Male Birth for 1856/57 for Aberystwyth/Aberystwith for a Roderick Clement Richardes -
Baptised 20 Feb 1857 at Llanbadarn Fawr
some siblings under Richards.
Their Mother was Elizabeth Smith 1819 to 1874
Father was Alexander Richardes 1821 to 1883
Anyone good at other BMD search sites ?
Any help appreciated.

It might be that he wasn't registered. See, for example:

Insert:

coverage was not universal, especially in the earlier years before tougher laws in 1874. Use Church Records in these cases.

One of my families didn't have children registered until the 1874 Act. Previously they had just had children baptised.

Agree some just aren't registered, I have a missing one from 1864.

I tried two different listings, other than GRO index, before my previous post using a date up to a year before and with no area  and variation in names.  Nothing came up.

About to try a third site!

Added = lots of info on his marriage and death but no birth reg.

Yes, this was the Area of his Birth on all Census Records
Born at Penglais Manor, Aberystwyth which he inherited and Died there after Two Marriages.
Baptised just up the road at Llanbadarn Fawr Church in Feb 1857

Was tempted to accept First reply from Gadget as very logical answer to the mystery.
But just thought his Parents were high up in Society and unlikely to have been lax in Birth Registration then I checked my Ancestry Records for his Siblings Birth Index Registration details :
His Parents married in 1843

Mmn = Smith

Could they have changed names - I see you have him as 1850 but Ancestry has him as 1856.

Typed a reply last night Gadget after some Shiraz Medicine but must have forgot to Post it, Ooooops.

The GRO online Birth Index Search Facility which shows Mothers Maiden Names back to 1837 confirms Charles Eardley Cecil but under Richards without the E 
Aberystwyth Mar 1850 Vol 27 page 13 Mmn = Smith,  so I am happy with that.
also found Baptism for him at Llanbadarn Church same as Roderick Richardes, on 20 Feb 1850

His Brother Alexander Eardley is also under Richards without the E in Aberystwith June 1844 Vol 27 page 17 Mmn = Smith

Forgot to list before another Brother William Athelstan Francis Richardes born 1852 but no GRO Index for him either but Baptism at Llanbadarn Church 30 Sep 1852

The Sons of this Dynasty did go to India with the East India Company and One died there while one Died in St Helena on route home and One in 19118 in Salonika
But the Parents didn't move/

The GRO for Charles Eardley Richardes June 1856 Aberystwyth Vol 11b page 69 the GRO shows Mmn = Sewell

So must be Son of his Dad's Brother naming his kids the same.
