I'm hoping someone can help. My Great Uncle George Coupland & his wife Maude adopted a little girl in 1928 from workhouse at the age of 8. Her name was Maggie Cuppleditch born 11 November 1920. She married George Henry Meearss in 1942. I'm trying to find out what I can about her but I'm finding it hard, I've found her in the 1939 census where she is living with her adoptive parents in Frithville

There is no birth registered under the name of Maggie Cuppleditch in the last quarter of 1920 or the first quarter on 1921.

I know it's very strange, unless she was born under a different name?

Do you know where she was born, was it Lincolnshire?

I've no idea, all.I know is her date of birth & that's not good i know.

Can't find anything else about her, do you know the area where the workhouse was?, it might be long enough ago that the records are available

Was there any other paperwork within the family or does another family member have any details,

Sorry I don't have any information at all, in fact I've only recently found out about her.

There is a small family tree on Ancestry, doesn't give much away though, she appears to have had children, are there any around you can contact

I've actually been in contact with her Granddaughter but she unfortunately knows as much as I do about her Grandmother's early life. Thank you for all help.
