Ancestry of Ricket Thiselton b. 1718
« on: Friday 13 December 19 20:57 GMT (UK) »
Ricket Thiselton was baptised 28 September 1718 in Kingscliffe, Northamptonshire to William Thiselton & Anne Rickant/Ricket. He married Mary Copeland 23 December 1755 at Saint Martin in the Fields, Westminster. He died in May 1785 in Westminster. In Electoral Registers he is listed as a Gentleman.

His parents William & Anne married 1 November 1714 in Castor, Northamptonshire.

Records seem to go cold prior to this marriage record for the Thiselton/Ricket family. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Keelan

Hi,

I also found that record, but on the trandscription it gives a date of death as 1st March 1685, and I can't find another William Thisleton apart from this one.

Hi
Richard Thiselton buried Kings Cliffe 25.10.1717 perhaps he left a Will?

As for Anne Rickant in the same parish
Hannah Rickaut wife of John buried 11.12.1719 aff Katherine Cross
John buried 21.2.1727/8 aff. shop keeper Mary Bennett.
Sarah his widow buried on the 27th and there is a note connecting them and an affidavit by Mary Bell
I'm assuming the affidavit is about being buried in woolen.

John from Bedford married Hannah Manton of Castor between Sep and Dec 1705 so a possible brother not father.

Hi,

So you are suggesting the possibility that Hannah was the husband of John Rickant, who may have been a brother to Anne Rickant? And that the Rickant family may have been from Bedford?
