Barony covers such a large area, and there are so many James and Mary Grays' listed in the index. Do you have any idea of their ages or maybe their parents names?

James Gray married Mary Calder 31st May 1828 Mid Calder, Midlothian.

Son Andrew Gray Born 19 Nov 1830 was a Baker in Glasgow. He married Martha Bell 26th March 1854, Glasgow.

James Gray died on or about the 14th July 1854 or 1855 Glasgow.

I think the above Gray family may have lived at Calton, Barony during 1851 period.

I can't see an Andrew with parents James and Mary in 1851 index.
This MIGHT be them in 1841. since he was born Mid Calder.  This census is on 'freecen'

This is in fact the correct family in 1841. Thanks for the info capricorn!

Some additional information:

Mary Gray arrived in Melbourne, Australia in May 1857 aboard ship 'Ben Nevis' accompanied by family
Margaret, Thomas and Robert and settled in Ballarat, Victoria. Son James emigrated to New Zealand.

Andrew Gray and wife Martha departed Greenock 21st August 1856 aboard ship 'Briseis' arriving
Melbourne 22nd Nov 1856.

Of particular interest to me is James Gray (father). He died in Glasgow on or about the 14th July 1854 or 1855. The burial location and where the family lived prior to emigrating to Australia.
