Great Great Grandfather John Arthur

GGgrandfather John Arthur b 1795 d 1879
Born in Ireland as was his wife Sarah Elizabeth Moore, and immigrated to Ontario, Canada
His picture is clearer than Sarah's but gives an idea what they were both like, taken through glass.  Thanks in advance for all your help

I think you need to come forward a generation, this appears to be an 1880s image and the dates you give don't fit, the same with your other photo.

According to a tree on Ancestry, they had a son John Arthur born 1843 and died sometime after 1901.The photo could be of him. That would fit with a photo taken in the early 1900s as Jim has mentioned in your other post.

Well Carol, I will have to check then , he did have 5 sons so maybe its one of them and 3 daughters.  Thanks for your input.

I think you might want to read through this earlier thread- supposed to be Thomas Arthur (born 1849)  & wife Elizabeth Henry (born 1858).

Wow...Nice work Aghadowey So it was a son as I said earlier but not John....brilliant find and great photo  Attached is the photo from the link for comparison.

Thanks for straightening me out still had the wrong son, just looking back at pictures of the  gates at the farm, it says Thomas and Elizabeth Arthur which is also a brother to my ggrandmother
