Elizabeth Parkinson death info 1927-1931
« on: Thursday 19 December 19 21:12 GMT (UK) »
This lady lived at 'Robbery Bottom' a bit north of Welwyn in Hertfordshire in approx 1920's. She was born approx. 1874-1884 probably around Manchester [or possibly Macclesfield, or Liverpool]. According to family sources she died around 1928-29, but not known whether she died in Hertfordshire or elsewhere. She had family connections in Chorlton in Lancashire, & Bedford & Sharnbrook in Bedfordshire from 1911 to death. It is probable that she never married, but this is not certain. It is proving pretty difficult to find when & where she died & ANY help with this would be very welcome

If we find a death for an Elizabeth Parkinson in 1928 in Hertfordshire of a lady born in 1879, what proof would you need that it was the correct lady?

If she had written a will, do you have any idea who she might have left anything to?

Have you got this lady on any census?

Do you know who her parents were so we can track her?

Just wondering how you know she died between 1927-1931 please.

Parkinson is a pretty common name to check for a birth and it be the correct one.

Do you have any other info, such as siblings names? This would provide at least a possible clue on a birth or a census if she can be 'attached' to another name as well. On a birth it would be the same mother's maiden name for Elizabeth AND a sibling to give that important 'clue'.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

A search on Ancestry of all Eliz/sabeth Parkinsons born 1874 to 1884, died 1926 to 1930, gives 10 hits.

Just seen you have written died 1928-1929 but your heading is 1927-1931.  Which one is it, or just a guess?

cuffie81,

Could you find her there before that date?

She could have died at the end of 1928, if allowing for compilation and publishing of data?

Found a Frederick Ray in Robbery Bottom, Oaklands in 1929 Kelly's Directory, but presumably there are several houses along the road.

No, I couldn't find her before or afterwards. I'll double check though.

Also, I think this may be the family drmjgould is referring to. I'm not entirely sure this is actually the same family, let alone the right family.
