Thank you kindly for the assistance and with a little more investigation I have solved my issue, except their marriage.  Hehehehehe  I'm stoked.

Hi,

There is a mention in the Pacific Island Monthly on page 25 of Francis of the Manuan Rubber Plantation arriving in Rabaul on Jan 14th 1936 from Sydney.

I think in 1942 Francis Charles BRYEN was in Rabaul in  local military unit ie. not Australian Army, so possibly a civilian resident. Did Francis and Dorothy marry outside Australia?

Electoral Roll NSW 1943  at 29 Duke St Kensington
WALKER Archibald Ernest      clerk
WALKER Catherine Grace      home duties

Francis mentioned here: https://www.roll-of-honour.org.uk/Cemeteries/Rabaul_Memorial/B/html/br.htm

Have been following this thread so just a couple of observations:

Frank Charles BRYEN worked for Colyer Watson, a coffee business acc to the PIM.
His War Service record was completed in 1945 NOT when he enlisted which may explain why no place and dob. Original record possibly lost in NG.
Dorothy Beryl Walker was listed from 1932 to 1937 NSW Elec Roll at 29 Duke Street with her family.
So she must have been 21 by 1932. Is there a possibility she was born overseas e.g. England?
Perhaps they married in NG, if she travelled there, or perhaps they never married officially but she became Mrs Bryen when he enlisted to qualify for pension. She wouldn't be the first to assume her "husband's" name.
By the way, PIM is a fascinating magazine!

I thought that Maddy had found the 'right' birth here:

A possibility -

Dorothy B WALKER birth reg Quirindi (8542/1911 ) parents: Archibald B and Catherine G.

as it leads to finding her parents and siblings ... and then to the address of 29 Duke Street ...

I have left a message for one of my elderly relatives who was in the public service in PNG from mid 1950s through to the handover in 1975 - asking about his knowledge of BDM records for TNG pre WWII.  I am not sure if he is 'at home' or if he is 'on holidays' ... but I am sure he 'will know' about seeking BDM records ...
