who are Elizabeth Jones parents??

Hi all, im at a bit of a loss, i have Elizabeth Jones b abt 1830 according to each census it states born :

1861 : Abenbury Vechan
1871 : Wrexham
1881 :Bersham
1891 : Bersham
1901 : Bersham
1911 : Holt.
i know Elizabeth partner is John Smith, - i cannot find marriage cert, the whitechurch 1856 is not theres!, they had children : Louisa 1862, Albert 1865, Arthur 1866, Adah 1870, Sarah Annie Elizabeth (why only her as long name, also my gt grandmother) 1872. all living in Abenbury Vechan

i believed that baptism b1830 at Bersham to Matthew Jones and Elizabeth Abrahams was Elizabeths parents , however im not so sure as i recieved a message re the parents, and there research takes it that her Elizabeth died young aged 38, and they have research that that Elizabeth father Matthew was church Elder and there son David became a surgeon - i had not even traced them , just the marriage of Matthew and Elizabeth.

am i barking up wrong tree or not, this person was adopted so cannot check DNA, however i have lots of Jones DNA connections but not common ancestors

do you have any of the birth certificates to see how Elizabeth's name is given in case she had been  married before?

John had been married previously, his wife Frances died aged 27 2 Aug 1859 and his daughter Frances Elizabeth died 7 Dec 1859 aged 15 months, not sure the paper has her age correct as the birth was registered in sept qtr 1859.

I wonder if Elizabeth was a sister of Frances who moved in after the death of Frances to care for the baby. Marriage to a dead wife's sister at that time was not legal although it did happen.

I have the cert of Sarah birth cert here is a snip. so maybe thats why no marriage entry for Elizabeth and John ?

there is a Frances in Minera with a sister Elizabeth of the right age and father John, a smith, but this Frances married John Evans in 1853 in the parish church in Wrexham.

wouldnt Frances and Elizabeth be a Jones? father would be Jones not Smith?

I'm not finding a Marriage of a John Smith and an Elizabeth Jones anywhere in the locality.

i have never found a marriage for John and Elizabeth only the 1856 one, which did state John widower, but obv before Frances...

ive found the baptism for Frances Elizabeth on FindMyPast, at 4th Aug 1859, so possibly Frances died in childbirth ?

The occupation of John Jones is smith.


Frances Elizabeth Smith baptised 13 Aug 1859 daughter of John & Frances in the parish church of Wrexham, she was buried 15 Dec 1859 same church. Her mother was buried  there aged 27 6 Aug 1859. So yes, looks like a death in childbirth.

also in 2014 and yes the parents of John turned out to be correct, Samuel and sarah thewell as i have dna matches from thewall side
