It is Crugiau in the other censuses, and on the map.

Is it Abel Edwin Jones living at Cragian? in 1911
Looking at neighbours and house names is this possible for the 1901?
Easier to give you a name to look up on that page which includes nearby properties mentioned in 1911 including Cragian

John Maurice Davies born 1855

Cathy

Oooops Sadly forgot to give you the Name of Property, Sorry.

It was "Crugiau"

where Maj Gen Lewis Davies was born in 1777 and probably rented out when his parents died 1852 et seq.

his grandson John Maurice Davies lived at Plas Antaron up the road.

You may have already checked Welsh Journals but just in case -

http://journals.library.wales

Pop "crugiau" in Search - should return 305 hits. Tab down to 4th entry and click on "Vol 14 No 1 A History of the Tanybwlch Estate, Aberystwyth"

I haven't checked if any of the remaining 304 hits are relevant!!

Have you checked Welsh Newspapers?  http://newspapers.library.wales

"crugiau" returns 1210 hits - you can reduce that by using the "Search within these results" (top left of screen) -eg "Aberystwyth" reduces it to 477 hits!

Also try "rhyd y felin" (including the "   " as part of search key) or "rhydyfelin" ("   " not required) in the "Search within these results" field.
