6212054 Leslie Jennison Middlesex Regt 2/7th Battalion

Has anyone got any information on the Middlesex Regiment 2/7th battalion in World War 2?
My dad, Leslie Jennison (private 6212054) was part of machine gun crew the 2/7th battalion. All I know is that he was badly wounded 16/02/1944 during the Italian campaign, the battle of Anzio (info from forces-war-records.co.uk).  I'd be interested to know any information about the battalion.  He was born in Loftus in 1918, but lived in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England.

I know that I can ask for his war record (he died in 1960), but I have seen similar posts on here from "Newbabe" and "John McLoughlin"  who may have more information about this battalon.

Any information or leads gratefully accepted.
