Wexford Durney/Dorneys
« on: Thursday 02 January 20 08:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can assist,

From a very old thread way back in 2003, there was a list of Durney/Dorney births, shown below:

COUNTY WEXFORD BIRTHS Baptismal Data provided by Wexford Heritage Centre August 2003.
Record of children born to James Dorney and Mary Browne  Baptised in the RC Parish of Bangor
Name.       Baptised     Address     Sponsor          Sponsor         Church Registry

Elenor       19 Dec 1844 Hilltown    John Molloy    Margaret Doyle 02 Pge 52 05
Catherine  07 Feb 1845     "          N/A                  N/A                   01 Pge 62 02
John          03 Mar 1849     "          N/A                  N/A                   01 Pge 79 12
Jacoleum   05 Sep 1853     "         James McGrath Cath Sweeney 01 Pge 84 11
Christopher 7 Jun 1858     "         Michael Dorney Mary Moran      01 Pge 112 07
William       09 May 1860   "         David Walsh      Marg Doran      01 Pge 120 13
James        03 Feb 1863    "        William Lacey     Maria Dorney    01 Pge 131 12

I am specifically trying to find details on John Durney/Dorney baptised 3/3/1849 and although I have volume, page number and line details and have searched everywhere for a long time I just cannot find the entry.

Would anyone be able to assist in posting the actual page?

Thanks in advance
Lesley Kelly (my grandmother was a Durney)

In that list you have John baptised 3rd March 1849.

Indexes, however, show Margaret Dorney baptised 22nd December 1848

That baptism is here - page 42
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634018#page/42/mode/1up

The records are quite difficult to follow and interpret, I think but if it is right, then that would make the baptism of John in March 1849 questionable.
