Please can anyone help?

I believe that Hubert Dyson was married in 1944 in Angus. Please can anyone tell me if there is a index/site where I could get the bride's name from, and the location?

Mother's maiden surname Sleight on SP , which would match with a 1917 birth in England(FreeBMD)

From SP it looks likely that his wife passed on in 1979 , Dundee , age 57.

From the marriage index on Scotlands people for the 1944 marriage of Hubert Dyson his wife's name is May Alexander S. Cruden. This ties in too with 1979 death given by ev.

Thank you very much for that wonderful information - I really am extremely grateful to you and am delighted to have it.
I have previously googled "Liff Hospital" and from what I can see, it seems to be one that specialises in patients with mental health issues - please, can anyone confirm this?
If so, it fits in with what I know about Hubert - he was involved in the retreat from Dunkirk and was very badly wounded, which greatly affected him.

Yes I can confirm that Liff Hospital specialised in patients with mental health issues. This is from personal knowledge having had a relative there as a patient in the 1980's.

Great that everything has now fallen into place for you.

Poor Hubert probably suffered from what we would call nowadays PTSD.

Please, do you happen to know if the patients were residential or day care or both?
Also, I believe the 1944 marriage was in St Andrew, Angus - please do you know if St Andrew was a Registration District or a Church? I have googled this, but I am a little confused.

Hi Kit,
I cannot say for sure if Liff Hospital took day patients. My relative was an inpatient.

St Andrews was a registration district in Dundee from 1919 until 1971. There is also a Church of Scotland Kirk named St Andrews in the centre of Dundee.
