Marriage 1855 Preston Bissett

Looking for information on the marriage of John Adams and Ellen Cox at St John the Baptist Church, Preston Bissett January to March 1855. In particular I need confirmation of John's father (based on his baptism year there is two possibilities)

Do you mean Newman and Caroline as parents or George and Martha?

There is a Newman Adams registered Buckingham Sept quarter 1855 mothers maiden name Cox.
This child died 1856 registered Durham

If this is the first child of John and Ellen I would say his father is Newman Adams and mother Caroline. Naming the first male child after his father.

Newman Adams baptized 15 August 1855 parents John and Ellen at Preston Bissett.

James born 1858
Sarah Ann  age 6/12

Was Ellen's mother Mary? because John's mother would be Caroline if his father is Newman Adams.

If the parish records are not available you need to buy the marriage certificate.

Point taken regarding child Newman Adams and Mary Caroline Adams. I was aware of both baptisms but was still wondering if anyone could confirm father via the marriage record. Not sure who Ellen's mother was at this stage
