Who is Maria Maeder married 1826 in Dublin?
« on: Thursday 09 January 20 22:51 GMT (UK) »
Maria Maeder married Arthur O'Keefe at St Paul's (Church of Ireland), Dublin on 13 August 1826. As Maria O'Keefe, she arrived in Tasmania, Australia, in November 1835, under the London Emigration Scheme. There she married James Rosier (as O'Keefe - her maiden name Maeder is on her children's birth certificates).

Her life in Tasmania is thoroughly detailed but her life in Ireland remains a mystery beyond her marriage to Arthur. She would have been born around 1812 in Ireland, if other evidence is to be believed.

Any and all help and/or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

There are other records with various spellings. Possibly a son of above John Gaspard, also called John G looks to have emigrated to US. There are a couple of newspaper snippets about him.

Marriage of John Gaspart Maeder and Mary Dogood June 1807

All these events look to take place at St Paul’s but I can’t see a baptism for Maria.

I do think that the marriage of John Gaspard Maeder and Mary Dogwood 1807 is correct

James & Maria called their son James Gaspard Rosier and gave her maiden name as Maeder in all cases.

Then it is all very favourable  :)

Perhaps St Paul’s records will have to be searched more thoroughly.

That information would have been a help at the outset.

I am confused now. I thought you were just helping and I was replying to MiniHistory, presuming that s/he knew about the Rosier family.

There is info here re Clara Fisher who married a Maeder, possibly brother to Maria.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clara_Fisher

There are a few mentions of him to be found.
