I would appreciate the opinion(s) of people who have experience with photography please.
These 2 pictures are of my Grandfather as far as I know. One of my sisters has stated emphatically that they cannot be the same man. I look at the long face(like mine) and the the chin and I think they are the same fellow.
The pic in uniform is of him aged 25/26 when he was in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. The other pic is of him in his 50痴 with my Dad who was orphaned at 7. Not sure how old he is in this pic but his Mother died when he was 4 so I suspect he is older than that. My Grandfather was 57 when he died in 1931. He had been a stretcher bearer with the RAMC during WW1... no wonder he looks so old.

I would say they are the same person too. I have tried to make the faces similar size for comparison.

People smarter than I have said ears are almost as unique as fingerprints. Your two photos look like they were taken from almost the same angle, so you should be able to see similarities rather easily.

Ooh, that is so lovely, thank you so much. It is precious to me as it is one of only 3 pictures I have of my Granda...and the only one of him with my lovely Dad. The third picture is in pretty bad shape but perhaps I will post it to see if you can do anything with it.
