What records will give me place of birth?

I am trying to pin down the townland or even county of birth of an ancestor who was born in Ireland but lived & married in Wales had one child there and then moved to Coventry where he had another child and eventually died.
His name was Maurice Moriarty (DOB May/March 1896 from 1939 register & death certificate) and his sons were Maurice Patrick Edmund Moriarty b1928 in Ystradgynlais (RD Pontardawe) and John W b1930 Coventry and died aged 7.
So far Maurice’s 1970 death certificate and newspaper article about his marriage in 1927 only give Ireland as a place of birth.
Where else can I look?
Is there a chance it could be on his children’s birth certs?
He was probably a Roman Catholic as he married in an RC church so would he have baptised his children and if so how do I find those records from 1928 near Pontadarwe and 1930 in Coventry?
Online baptism records only seem go up to around 1910, is this just what has been transcribed or do they not exist To view after that?
Could an online parish clerk help?
I also think he was an air raid warden in WW2 in Coventry & worked at the GEC there but I don’t think there are surviving records for these.
I am beginning to think I’ll just have to wait until the 1921 Census is released.

Your ancestors marriage civil certificate would show his father’s name and occupation and where the marriage took place.

The Catholic church record may show details of his birthplace as baptism details were often sought and communicated between the two churches.

I have looked at the Irish parish records and civil ones & census records but wanted to narrow it down more.

You have a date of birth from his death record.
I can only see one birth which is close to that but not exact.
However if you had his father’s name that would be most useful.
I can’t see him in 1939 to compare his birthdate from there - do you have that record?

I see there is a tree with the March birthday - I was looking at one with a June birthday so definitely the marriage record.

Added - the one I found died so that brings it back to the one in the tree perhaps.

Fathers name was Patrick, occupation Farmer on the marriage cert.

1939 register he is married to Daisy Moriarty nee Rees (but previously married to a Nolan) with lodgers Arthur Northwood & William Kearney at 110 Glencoe Rd. I think his name might be mistranscribed as Maureen!
Sorry I am not sure how best to quote sources.

 I saw a civil birth record from Chapeltown Co Kerry but in the 1901 & 1911 census the best match was in Tawlaght but fathers occupation either not given or labourer.

there was another family in Ballinloughig with Farmer father named Patrick but birth of Maurice was 1895 I think (Maurice living with Grandfather Michael in 1911 Ballynahaw).

I was also not sure how complete the Irish records are for other counties so could there be other missing matches?
Was hoping to confirm a county at least from another source.
