Ester TAYLOR of Claydon, Oxfordshire
« on: Saturday 11 January 20 06:21 GMT (UK) »
Ester TAYLOR & John DUCKETT/DUCKIT OTP married by banns 15 Nov 1796 at Claydon, Oxfordshire.  One of the witnesses was John TAYLOR.

Ester & John had at least two children:
Thomas bap 1799,
Hannah bap 1802

Based on a possible age of 22 at marriage for Ester would make her born about 1744 so by the time of the census in 1841 she will be about 97 so its almost certain she will have died.

I am unable to get any traction on John & Ester after the birth of their two children. Additionally Hannah is not as yet located.  I did locate a Hannah DUCKETT who was buried 3 Jan 1838 at St Luke, Chelsea however I am not certain about this record.  Is her age given as 30 or 36?

Their son Thomas is onto his second marriage by 1841 and located him  living at Cropredy, Banbury with his second wife and children from both marriages. [HO107/ 873/11/ 9  p12]

Some people have said the John that is on this census [clipping attached] is Thomas' father John aged 70 however I think its his son John aged 20.  I would appreciate an opinion on this as well please.

All assistance gratefully received.

Wouldn't that make her birth year about 1774?  Probably not having babies in her 50s.

I agree that the John Duckett in 1841 is shown as 20 not 70.   Thomas and first wife Mary had a son John baptised 8/4/1821 Claydon.
