Hi Gilld,

Just been into Whitchurch Library to read an M.I. - I have from Hertfordshire.
While there I inquired what census forms they had and were told 1841 and 1901 for Whitchurch and surrounding area - if you need any lookups for your tree  just let me know -  I think I am the first one in mine to live in Shropshire - so they are not of much help to me !!

Cheers
Keith

Hi Gill
1841 Whitchurch census
Good news/Bad news !! ;D :(
Found some Days in Whitchurch - but not your family - however list them as they might be related:
Ellan Day 30 family servant in High St to Joseph Allwool draper + 3 others all drapers
John Day 69 Shoe M
John Day 43     "      "
Thomas Day 25  "     "
Martha Day 25
Martha Day 5
Sarah Day 3
Ellen Day  6 months
All living at Yardington St, Whitchurch.
John Day  20 Ag Lab
Jane Day 30
Eliza Day 2
Living at Yardington St - together with the Barlow family - 6 doors away from previous family.
On walking back from the library I had a quick look in the cemetery and found one which be interesting:
En?or (could be Ebenezer) Day - died 1880 - aged 74.
Sorry I couldn't find your Days - looking at the other information I find it difficult to believe they are not there - having children all born in Whitchurch in 1838,1841 and  1843 - they must surely be there in 1841!!
The census covers - Adderley, Prees, Wem and Whitchuch - looked in them all - was difficult at times as the "ditto" is put as "do" - which looks like your "day" - but don't think I missed any!!!!

Anyway - if you find anything else out let me know.

Cheers
Keith
