Mary Trelfa seems to have been born in 1740 in Church Minshull
North West, North Wales and Isle of Man:

Ward, Campbell, Cowin, Cowell, Parry, Fryer, Davies, Hughes, Briscoe, Jones, Spencer, Brownbill, Crowfoot, Nield, Randles, Youde

Gozo, Malta:

Apap / De Apapis, Camilleri, Grech, Muscat, Micallef, Custo, De Nasi

Angus, Scotland:

Ormond, Salmond, Cook, MacDonald

I have just done a 'blanket' search for the surname Trelfa on the Ancestry website. No dates or location - just the surname.

There are far more than we would think - and many are in Cheshire! (Several criminals as well!)

I had never heard of it before either.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

I had never heard of it before either.

May be a Welsh surname of obscure origins. Very odd. The line of Trelfas seem to go cold after Mary's father William Trelfa. It may be a spelling variation of another surname
