Can't readily see it, but 1939 Register shows entries for Railway Avenue between Wood Hill Lane and Carleton Street.

Thank you BumbleB - that map is a lovely reminder of my youth - though a few years after 1947... ;D

This is the 1937 map of the area, but Railway Avenue is not marked

The Kelly's Directories for 1933-34 and 1956 don't list a Railway Avenue in Morecambe.

I wonder if Railway Avenue is one of these two un-named turnings  :-\

Could those two unnamed turnings have been 'unadopted roads' and so had no official name?

I think it's the top one - 1939 Register lists 9 even numbers, and 3 uneven numbers, which I have interpreted to be the 9 plots on one side of the road and 3 on the other side  :-\
