A mystery man,James J Dunning.
« on: Monday 13 January 20 10:56 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for further info about a James J Dunning given as marrying my relative Rose A Perrin(Nee Woods) at Liverpool in 1921.Unfortunately Lancashire BMD gives the Marriage as taking place at a Registry Office.I'm unable to find a Birth or a Death for him.The 1939 Register gives his Birth as 17/09/1897.

Whilst it has no Family History value to me,I am looking to help a Dunning contact on Ancestry.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

I don't have access to the 1939 Register, or if I do I haven't used it yet. I assume it tells you a place of birth. If not, could he be this man born in Athlone, Roscommon, Ireland, on 17 September 1898.

James Dunning, son of James Dunning a farmer of  Drumlosh, and Rose Dunning formerly Connell. Informant: the father.

The 1939 register does not list place of birth.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if the Irish birth would have been ruled out already.

The Irish birth sounds good because of motherís name doesnít it.

On second thoughts, the name is not relevant - he married Rose. ::)

Thereís a James Dunning of 70 Phoebe Ann Street Liverpool buried on 12 May 1951 in a private grave in the RC part of Anfield Cemetery. I think that is the same address as the 1939 National Identity Register. Jamesí age is given as 52.

May 11, 1951 - Liverpool Echo - Liverpool, Lancashire, England

DUNNING- May 8. JAMES. dear brother of Martha (Goodwin) and family. R.I.P.

.....

The James DUNNING found by heywood on the 1911 did have a sister Martha who appears to have married a John J GOODWIN.
