The 1870 census record looks like them.  It also looks likely Catherine lost the children early but as yet this is just supposition.  Its good to know how many she birthed.

In 1870 they were in the Pennington Post Office area of Coatesville. This later became Atglen, in case you are tracking them. Not far away,- maybe closer to the rolling mill that Wm and the Sweeneys were working in. You'd need to look at the history of the area.

Fingers crossed the family is NOT located in the 1880 census.  If they aren't located it supports the theory the family migrated to Australia in 1874. ;D

Thank you for the history of the place.  I find it very interesting.

There was a lot of births listed on family search - Philadelphia to William Duffy and Catherine between 1860 - 1870 wonder if they are possible -  ??? Suppose they are both had common christian names

It's hard to tell, as there is more than 1 family of William and Catherine from Ireland.

There is this family in 1880 also with a son John (and other children William and Kate, though in Philadelphia, so could be the other family mentioned reply #1 ):
