Madoc of Llangasty Tal-y-Llyn 1620 Lord of Scethrog Will
« on: Wednesday 15 January 20 07:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I found a very interesting reference to a will made by Thomas Madoc Lord of Scethrog in Theophilus Jones History of Brecknockshire in a section describing the Parish of Llangasty Tal-y-Llyn.

It is possible that this will was made by another (?) Thomas Maddock before he emigrated to Jamestown in 1622, but the names are different and Madoc was the ancient family name of the Llanfrynach dynasty.

I can't find any other reference to this will. It isn't in the British Archives or listed in the Library of Wales Wills.

I would like to know of any further information, the reference in Theophilus Jones book is attached..

Many Thanks for your attention!

I think it is referenced at least under "Thomas Maddocks" in the NLW catalogue, the source possibly Brecon Probate Records 1543-1658

Try this link:-

Failing that search the NLW catalogue using the term "1620 + mad*oc*"
