Jane Snow

Hi All,
            I'm trying to find the birth certificate of Jane Lewis nee Snow. Jane was born around 1848 in the Bridgend area to parents Mary Ann Hosgood and William Snow. She married Henry Lewis in 1869 in Pontypridd. I have found all census records from 1851 through to 1911. Any help on this subject would be gratefully received.

It could well be that she wasn't registered.

"Although civil registration was introduced in 1837, it was not until 1874 that the registration of a birth became compulsory. Between these dates, children may not have been registered. There was in fact a loophole as the act was not fully understood and people genuinely thought that to have a child baptised was to register that child. "

Did find Samuel born 1845 MMN Hasgood

Thank guys, I had found the birth record with the mothers maiden name thomas and Jane's brother Samuel's birth record to a Hasgood (Hosgood), but maybe groom is right and the birth wasn't registered unless Thomas is an error, thank you anyway for your feedback, Kind Regards
