Thomas move
« on: Wednesday 15 January 20 16:27 GMT (UK) »
Have tracked a marriage to Holywell, but the couple next turn up (I think) in Llanfaglan in Caernarvonshire - some 30 miles away - where their son is born.  Is this feasible in a time when families tended to stay put, or the younges tsone move up to 20 miles away for work.

You don't give any idea of dates.

It's not unusual to move about (incidentally it's 53 miles via the North Wales Expressway!). It could be that one of them lived in Llanfaglan or they had a job there and they moved after the wedding. I have many examples among my North Wales ancestors

Hi Rosie 99.

Move would be late 1700s, as their son Thomas Thomas was born in Llanfaglan in 1790.Died in Caernarvon (Is Helen) in 1882.
