WAKELIN family
« on: Thursday 16 January 20 13:23 GMT (UK) »
I have recently had my Ancestry DNA results back and the following names appear on my paternal 'Thrulines'.

William Wakelin 1708 - 1763

Margaret Wakelin 1720 - 1778

George Wakelin 1750 - 1813

William Wakelin 1780 - 1872

Mary Ann Wakelin 1814 - 1884

Can anybody provide me with any more information on these ancestors of mine who I had never heard of up to now!

I have Walklins also known as Wakelins in Kent.

Some idea of location would be good.

I think you should be able to click on these people in Thrulines and Ancestry should indicate how they got the info to suggest them to you.

Mary Ann Wakelin was the mother of my Great Grandmother Mary Ann Jacquet (b.1851) who married  Henry Bannister (1880 - 1933) and their daughter was my paternal grandmother.  Census records show the Bannister's all being registered in the Brentford registration district which covers Hounslow. Isleworth, Feltham areas.  The 1911 Census shows Mary Ann Bannister (nee Jacquet) as being born in Hounslow.

You have had your DNA tested with Ancestry. You have thruline suggestions that come from trees on Ancestry. Therefore why not go one step further and search the trees on Ancestry yourself and you will see several bits of information that would help you on these ancestors of yours.

Just a suggestion.
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.
