Need help with burials...
« on: Sunday 19 January 20 23:16 GMT (UK) »
Attached is a parish register that indicates the burial of Edward Midwinter is in Woolen? But I can't find it on Google and the record in ancestry indicates the burial place as Aldsworth Gloucestershire England. What am I missing  ???
Crawford, Smith, Marr, Newton, McClement, and more :)

It isn't a place name! ;D

It's a reference the the Burial in Woollen Acts.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burying_in_Woollen_Acts

As John Midwinter married in Northleach in 1729,? has he has family connections to the Wool trade (Midwinter, Northleach).  There are marriages on Ancestry from 1571 onwards, but John married at Northleach!)

Googling :  The Wool Inheritance :  Midwinter Northleach Church - There is an interesting article dated 1479 and a photograph of wooden wool marks of William Midwinter.

John Midwinter A20 middle stature

Which means he’s aged around 20 and fit to be a Muskeeter

Just by googling William Midwinter Northleach opens up quite a few interesting website etc

KGarrad - Thank You

Capetown - Blimey that's great info...

Some reading shows that William Midwinter was quite a name in the textiles business. I'm going to have to work backwards from Edward to see if there's a connection - SO COOL :)

You both ROCK!
