parents of Mary Cousens Taylor b.1865 St George in the East
« on: Tuesday 21 January 20 08:39 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the parents of the above lady. This is the spelling when her birth was registered (GRO), mmn Greaves.
On her marriage certificate (in Ancestry) her father is named as John Taylor, case maker. Her address is given as Bethnal Green and middle name spelt as Couzins.
Possible siblings are James Taylor, b.1859 St George (mmn Greaves) and Fanny Elizabeth b.1871 Whitechapel (mmn Greaves)
I just can't find her on any census! Hope someone can help, please.

Is this the family in 1861? Though it has different places of birth but similar ages and occupation?

John Taylor           31     Bourne, Lincolnshire  (carpenter journeyman)
Hannah Taylor    32      Birmingham, Warwickshire
James Taylor          2     Shadwell, Middlesex
Alfred Newton   Nephew   2    Bourne, Lincolnshire

RG09/292 / 24  pg19

Jame' s birth fits with Jun qtr 1859 St George in the East (1c/430) mmn GREAVES

Modified to add: living at William St, Stepney

Thank you so much. That's looking very promising.
Can you tell me the proper place to post my requests for help? I've never been very clear about that, it doesn't seem obvious to me.

I would suggest that as Mary was born in London, post on the London and Middlesex board,
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/london-and-middlesex/

If you click on the "report to moderator" button you can request that the thread be moved.  :)

I'm wondering if this is John TAYLOR in 1841 at South St, Bourne:

 John Taylor      45     Lincolnshire
Mary Taylor      40     Lincolnshire
John Taylor       11
James Taylor      5     Lincolnshire
Fanny Taylor   15      Lincolnshire
Sarah Taylor    10
Helen Taylor     1      Lincolnshire
John Cousins   30     Lincolnshire
Emerson Friend  30
John Bursh      60     Ireland
Elizabeth Sutton   15   Lincolnshire
William Berry   65
Thomas Brown   15   Lincolnshire
Sarah Berridge   20

H0107/615/15  pg 23

Would explain why he has Bourne as place of birth in 1861. Also note "John COUSINS"
