William Hill assault and death 1800, Tibshelf

I found this entry in the Tibshelf PRs and have copied it word for word as the Vicar recorded it.  The burial was Dec 15th 1800.
William Hill Jnr, farmer.  He was returning from Alfreton Market on the 5th just about 7 o clock in the evening, was robbed and cruelly treated by two men very near to that town and died a few days later in consequence of the severe wounds he then received.  He lost about 13 shillings cash besides his watch.

Later in the PRs, the Vicar added this ...   Lacy Powell and .....Drummond  were the men who cruelly treated William Hill, farmer, as mentioned in the list of deaths for December 1800.  They were hanged at Derby in the August for being the murderers for said crime.  They confessed after conviction.  They were Irishmen.
