Ann Seguin
« on: Friday 24 January 20 09:00 GMT (UK) »
Ann Seguin married Elias Marsh on 3 November 1788 when she was 19 years old.

1841 Census, St Mary, Whitechapel,

Ann Seguin died in January 1846 in London, London, when she was 77 years old.
Buried 2 Jan 1846 Kensington and Chelsea, So I think that Ann May have died in 1845

I think that this is probably not the same Ann.
Surely, she would have been known as Ann Marsh at burial if it was?

Also, I think, it does not really follow that she was married at Whitechapel.

What do others think, can anybody help please ?

Edit
I do not know if the following may help in deciding

Elias Marsh was born in 1761 in Alkham, Kent,
Father, William, was 45 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 31. He was baptized on 27 September 1761.
He married Ann Seguin on 3 November 1788. They had eight children in 20 years.

On the OPRs (Ancestry) there are burials in the Whitechapel area for Ann Marsh but I do not see any records for Ann Sequin, where did the information come from?

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Thanks for reply Colin.

I got the burial date from one of those hints that Ancestry send out.
I used to have a sub in the past which Is where much of my info came from.

Edit

It seems likely that Whitechapel is more likely to be relatvant.

It does not appear to be there now, I would have thought Ann would have used the married name and there are options in the Whitechaple area 1841 - 1851.

It seems the Ann in workhouse preceded this Ann.
